These work as plateware okay for the most part. But they are not evenly shaped and are a bit rough. They are definitely meant for disposal, as they won't hold up for more than a few uses (depending on the meal and style of cleaning). You do get a lot of them, which is nice. And I appreciate their intent for sustainability and decomposition.

These plates are top tier. I wish all food place would use these and cut out plastic or paper plates. They are sturdy and well made. They don't soak up any of the food and no aftertaste. I ate Thai panang curry with rice in mine and it was delicious with no mess. When I dont want to wash, these are what I will be using from now on.

We used these for a friend's birthday party. We wanted minimize plastic ware and wanted to use compostable materials as much as possible. These plates were wonderful. They are very sturdy and thick so that no sauce or liquidy stuff soaked through the plates. Normal paper plates would have become wet and wouldn't have held the food so well. The plates are so nice and thick that some guests thought they were made of plastic or Styrofoam and they needed to be told to put these in the bag designated as "compost". The eating utensils were also great, strong enough that I didn't see any of them break. If you are serving something like steak, the knives may not be strong enough, but for general purposes for casual parties that use disposable dinnerware, I thought they were more than adequate. I particularly appreciated that the set included little plates (more like shallow bowls), they were handy to hold snack items such as nuts and chocolates. I also found the price to be reasonable. Our city collects yard/food waste as compostables so we were happy for the party to be eco-friendly.

The Palm Leaf Plates were a hit at my last gathering! They’re sturdy enough for heavy meals and didn’t bend or leak, even with saucy dishes. I love that they’re eco-friendly and make cleanup easy. Great quality and a sustainable choice. I’ll be buying these again!

Seriously?!? My wife still tries to use them, but for me this is the paper straw all over again. I am definitely wanting to change to things other than plastic, but come on meet me half way. Even when we first got these as soon as you take them out of the package they bounce up and take up a bunch of room. You can't pile them up more than a few high or they fall over. That's before you wash them. Man after they dry it's ridiculous how much they curl up. My wife won't let me throw them away so I have them half stacked half shoved in top cabinet. I am going to try to rubber band and/or put a book on them to see if that will help keep them together. No thank you I will pass on these. The wooden utensils do work ok and we have used them a few times. That's why it's two stars. The rest is garbage.
